Behavioral Health Projects

The role of behavioral health patterns in health promotion and disease prevention is critical in understanding the many chronic health conditions that affect American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities.

Through research, epidemiology, and public health practice, the Northern Plains Tribal Epidemiology Center (NPTEC) works with Tribal Nations in the Aberdeen Area to focus on programs and projects that integrate community traditions to develop effective behavioral health strategies which enhance the health status and self-sufficiency of tribal members.
